Task Three – Analyse the artist

The artist that I have chosen is called Passion pit and are a from Cambridge, Massachusetts who formed in 2007. The genre of music that this band plays is indietronica which is a mix between pop, rock, indie and electronic. This bands style is very casual and relaxed, with each of the different band members wearing their own style whilst still keeping it in touch with the style of the band and genre.This is good because it means that to keep it in with the same style of the band then the They do not have any outlining features of clothing that can distinguish them from other artists and bands. This means that, when creating the music video there is no apparel that needs to be shown to keep it in touch with the artist.

Throughout most of their songs the style is calm with sections which are more lively and this reflects to the music video. If we were to keep i touch with the bands music then this means will not have to be very energetic. This means there does not have to be lots of running and jumping in order to keep with the music. A risk however with doing this is that we could make it not as energetic and therefore make it boring so the audience would lose interest.

A website is a good way to get across to the audience who your band is and give across the style of them. The website for Passion Pit is the very clear with clean boxes containing information about them which gives the impression that they are also a clean band with straight forward music. The simplicity of the site makes me feel as though what you see is what you get and there is no complicated story to them and their music can appeal to a lot of people.
